Possible Causes
Disconnected UI-to-main harness, Damaged communication cable, Failed user interface board, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before opening the console.
- Step 1 – Access console: Remove the screws securing the top or console panel to access the user interface and main control boards.
- Step 2 – Reseat communication harness: Locate the harness connecting the UI to the main control. Unplug and firmly reconnect both ends, ensuring locking tabs engage.
- Step 3 – Inspect harness: Look for pinched, cut, or burned wires along the harness route. Replace the harness if damaged.
- Step 4 – Check for corrosion: Inspect connectors for corrosion or moisture. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if needed and allow to dry fully.
- Step 5 – Board isolation: If wiring is good and F70 persists, one of the boards is defective. Replace the main control board first, then the UI board if the problem remains.
- Step 6 – Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that the display responds normally and cycles start without F70.
