Possible Causes
Shorted exhaust thermistor, Thermistor wires shorted together, Moisture in thermistor connector, Failed main control sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool before servicing.
- Step 1 – Locate exhaust thermistor: Typically mounted on the blower housing or exhaust duct.
- Step 2 – Inspect wiring: Check for pinched or rubbed-through wires touching metal or each other. Repair as needed.
- Step 3 – Test thermistor: Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. Replace if reading is near 0 ohms or far out of spec.
- Step 4 – Replace thermistor: Install a new OEM thermistor and reconnect wiring.
- Step 5 – Control board check: If a good thermistor does not clear tS, the main control may be faulty and require replacement.
