Possible Causes
Failed cycling thermostat, Stuck heater relay, Incorrect cycle selection, Non-functioning moisture sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before testing thermostats or accessing the control board.
- Use appropriate cycles: Select sensor-dry or lower heat settings for delicate fabrics. Avoid extended timed high-heat cycles.
- Check moisture sensor: Clean the sensor bars with rubbing alcohol to ensure proper detection of dryness.
- Test cycling thermostat: A stuck-closed thermostat can cause continuous high heat. Replace if it does not open at the specified temperature.
- Inspect heater relay: If the heater remains on when the cycle should be in cool-down, the relay on the main board may be welded closed and the board must be replaced.
Until repaired, use lower heat settings and shorter cycles to protect clothing.
