Midea
Restricted Airflow / Inefficient Drying
Dryer runs but takes too long to dry or requires multiple cycles

Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct, Lint buildup in blower housing, Weak heating element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disconnecting the vent or opening panels.
- Clean lint filter: Remove and clean the filter before every load. Wash with warm soapy water if coated with residue.
- Check vent hose: Pull the dryer out and inspect the vent hose for kinks, crushing, or long runs with many bends. Replace with rigid or semi-rigid metal duct if possible.
- Clean the exhaust duct: Disconnect the duct and use a vent brush to clean from the dryer to the outside vent hood.
- Test airflow: Run the dryer on air-only with the vent disconnected. Airflow at the outlet should be strong. If weak, inspect the blower wheel and internal ducts for lint buildup.
- Verify heating performance: Observe the heater cycling on and off during a timed dry cycle. If it cycles too quickly or not at all, test thermostats and element.
Proper airflow is critical for Midea dryers; most long-dry complaints are resolved by thorough vent cleaning.
