Midea
Excessive Vibration / Unbalanced Installation
Dryer vibrates excessively or walks across the floor during operation
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dryer not leveled, Worn or missing leveling feet, Uneven floor, Heavy items tumbling unevenly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before adjusting feet. Avoid placing hands under the dryer while it is running.
- Check leveling: Place a level on top of the dryer front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the leveling feet until the dryer is stable and level.
- Tighten lock nuts: Once level, tighten the lock nuts on the feet to prevent movement.
- Inspect feet: Replace any missing or damaged rubber feet to improve grip and vibration damping.
- Review load composition: Avoid drying single heavy items (e.g., a large blanket) alone. Mix with smaller items to balance the load.
If vibration persists with proper leveling and normal loads, internal components such as drum rollers or motor mounts may be worn and should be inspected.
