Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken door strike, Loose wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer or switch off the circuit breaker before removing any panels.
This error indicates the control board does not detect the door as closed and locked.
- Check the door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no clothing is trapped in the door seal or latch area.
- Inspect the door strike and latch: Look at the plastic/metal strike on the door and the latch on the front panel. If the strike is loose, cracked, or missing, replace it. If the latch is bent or damaged, it must be replaced.
- Test the door switch: Remove the top or front panel (depending on model) to access the door switch. Disconnect the wires and test the switch with a multimeter for continuity while pressing the actuator. If it does not change state (open/close), replace the switch.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the main control board for loose connectors, corrosion, or broken wires. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Reset power: After any correction, restore power and try to start a cycle again.
If the error persists after replacing the door switch and verifying wiring, the main control board may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a technician.
