Possible Causes

Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct, Crushed or kinked vent hose, Blocked wall or roof vent cap

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the dryer before cleaning vents or removing panels.

E02 typically indicates poor airflow causing high temperature in the exhaust channel.

  • Clean the lint filter: Remove the lint screen and clean it thoroughly. Wash with warm soapy water if it has fabric softener residue, then dry completely.
  • Inspect the vent hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall. Check the flexible duct for kinks, crushing, or heavy lint buildup. Replace thin foil or plastic ducts with rigid or semi-rigid metal ducting.
  • Clean the exhaust duct: Disconnect the duct from the dryer and wall. Use a vent brush or vacuum to remove lint from the full length of the duct to the outside vent hood.
  • Check the outside vent hood: Make sure the flap opens freely and is not blocked by lint, nests, or debris.
  • Reset and test: Reconnect everything, restore power, and run a timed dry cycle with no clothes. Check for strong airflow at the outside vent.

If E02 returns with clear airflow, the exhaust thermistor or high-limit thermostat may be faulty and should be tested with a multimeter.
