Possible Causes

Dirty moisture sensor bars, Disconnected moisture sensor harness, Failed moisture sensor, Faulty main control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal components.

E03 indicates the control is not receiving proper feedback from the moisture sensing system.

  • Clean the moisture sensor bars: Locate the two metal sensor strips inside the drum (usually near the lint filter housing). Clean them with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove dryer sheet and fabric softener residue.
  • Avoid overloading: Overloading can prevent clothes from contacting the sensor bars. Try a smaller load and retest.
  • Check wiring: Remove the front panel or lower access panel to locate the moisture sensor harness. Ensure the connector is firmly seated on both the sensor and the main control board.
  • Test the sensor: With the dryer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and test for continuity across the bars when bridged with a damp cloth. If there is no change in resistance, replace the sensor assembly.

If the sensor and wiring are good but E03 persists, the main control board's sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement by a professional.
