Possible Causes

Failed drive motor, Seized drum or idler pulley, Broken or slipped drive belt, Motor capacitor failure (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the top, front, or rear panels. Beware of sharp metal edges.

E06 indicates the control detects that the motor cannot start or rotate properly.

  • Check drum movement: With the dryer off, open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. If it is very hard to turn, inspect for jammed items between drum and front/bulkhead or a seized roller.
  • Inspect the drive belt: Remove the top and front panel to view the belt. If the belt is broken, off the motor pulley, or badly worn, replace it and inspect the idler pulley.
  • Check idler pulley and rollers: Spin the idler and drum support rollers by hand. If they are noisy or seized, replace them.
  • Test the motor: With the belt removed, try to spin the motor shaft. If stiff or locked, replace the motor. Use a multimeter to check motor windings for continuity according to the wiring diagram.
  • Inspect motor capacitor (if present): A failed start capacitor can prevent the motor from starting. Test or replace if bulged or leaking.

If mechanical parts are free and the motor tests good but E06 persists, the main control board motor relay or triac may be faulty.
