Dryer stops and displays E07; may occur shortly after start
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before internal inspection.
E07 indicates the motor is drawing excessive current, often due to mechanical drag.
- Reduce load size: Remove some items and try a smaller load. Overloading can cause high motor current.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the drum front and rear edges for trapped clothing or foreign objects.
- Inspect rollers and idler: Remove front panel and drum. Spin all drum support rollers and the idler pulley. Replace any that are noisy, flat-spotted, or hard to turn.
- Check belt tension: Ensure the belt is routed correctly around the motor and idler. Excessive tension from incorrect routing can overload the motor.
- Test motor current draw: A technician can use a clamp meter to verify motor amperage. Replace the motor if it exceeds rated current under normal load.
If mechanical drag is eliminated and E07 still appears, the motor or control board may be defective and should be professionally evaluated.
