Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or console.

E09 indicates a communication problem between the user interface (UI) and the main control.

  • Power cycle: Unplug the dryer for several minutes, then reconnect and test. This can reset the communication bus.
  • Inspect UI connections: Remove the control panel to access the UI board. Reseat the ribbon cable or harness between the UI and main board.
  • Check for moisture or corrosion: If the panel has been exposed to steam or liquid spills, dry the area thoroughly and clean any corrosion on connectors.
  • Test buttons: If some buttons do not respond, the UI board or membrane may be defective and require replacement.

If reseating cables does not resolve E09, either the UI board or main control board must be replaced. It is often cost-effective to have a technician diagnose which board is faulty.
