Possible Causes

Failed blower motor, Obstructed blower wheel, Loose blower wheel on shaft, Faulty blower motor capacitor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels. Beware of sharp edges and moving parts.

E15 indicates the blower fan is not operating correctly.

  • Listen for fan operation: Start a cycle and listen for the blower. If you do not hear airflow, stop and disconnect power.
  • Inspect blower wheel: Access the blower housing (usually from the front or rear). Check for lint clogs, foreign objects, or a broken wheel. Clean and remove obstructions.
  • Check blower wheel fit: Ensure the wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not spinning freely. Tighten or replace if stripped or cracked.
  • Test blower motor: Use a multimeter to check for continuity and proper resistance. If open or shorted, replace the motor. Inspect any external capacitor for bulging or leakage and replace if needed.

If the blower system is mechanically sound but E15 persists, the control board output to the blower may be faulty.
