Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, seized drum bearing, jammed drum by foreign object, failed motor capacitor (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels. Beware of sharp edges.
Restore drum rotation:
- Try to rotate the drum by hand from inside; if it spins freely, the belt may be broken or off the pulley.
- Remove the top and side panels to inspect the drive belt; replace if broken or badly worn.
- Check for socks or small items trapped between the drum and front felt seal; remove any obstructions.
- If the drum is stiff or grinding, inspect the rear drum bearing and front support for wear; replace worn components.
- On models with a motor capacitor, test and replace the capacitor if it is out of specification.
