Possible Causes
Worn drum rear bearing, worn front felt or glide pads, damaged support rollers (if fitted), foreign objects in drum seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before disassembly.
Eliminate noise sources:
- Run the dryer empty to confirm the noise is from the machine, not the load.
- Remove the top and front panels to access the drum supports.
- Inspect the rear drum bearing for wear, scoring, or excessive play; replace bearing kit if worn.
- Check front felt seals and glide pads for thinning, burning, or missing sections; replace as needed.
- Remove any foreign objects (coins, bra wires) caught in the drum seal area.
- Lubricate only where specified by Miele (many bearings are self-lubricating and should not be oiled).
