Dryer produces a burning smell or very hot exterior surfaces during use.

Investigate overheating:

• Remove the lint filter and inspect for lint accumulation beyond the filter; clean thoroughly.
• Check the exhaust duct and outside vent for heavy lint buildup; clean or replace ducting as needed.
• Access the heater housing and blower area; vacuum out lint and inspect for items that may have fallen onto the heater.
