Clean the lint filter and exhaust duct to ensure proper airflow; restricted airflow can cause overheating and blown safety devices.
Access the heater housing (rear or side panel removal) and visually inspect for burnt wiring or damage.
Test the heating element for continuity; replace the heater assembly if open.
Check any thermal fuses and high-limit thermostats for continuity; replace any that are open and investigate the cause of overheating.
If all heater components test good, the heater relay or control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
