Possible Causes
Failed blower motor, seized blower wheel, obstruction in fan housing, wiring fault to blower motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the blower area.
Check blower operation:
- Remove the front lower panel or side panel to access the blower housing.
- Inspect the blower wheel for lint clumps, socks, or other obstructions; remove any debris.
- Spin the blower wheel by hand; it should rotate freely without grinding noises.
- Test the blower motor for continuity and insulation resistance; replace if open or shorted.
- Verify wiring connections at the motor and control board.
- Reassemble and test. If F17 persists with a good motor and clear airflow, the control output to the blower may be faulty.
