Possible Causes
Failed exhaust NTC sensor, corroded NTC connector, damaged wiring to control board, defective electronic control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the dryer. Sharp metal edges may be present.
Inspection and test:
- Access the rear or lower front panel (model dependent) to reach the exhaust air duct.
- Locate the exhaust NTC sensor mounted in the outlet duct or near the lint filter housing.
- Unplug the sensor connector and check for lint buildup or moisture around the sensor; clean gently with a soft brush.
- Measure resistance at room temperature with a multimeter. Compare to the expected NTC curve (typically 10–20 kΩ at 20–25°C). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Check the wiring harness from the sensor to the control board for continuity and signs of heat damage.
- Reassemble and test. If F2 remains with a new sensor and good wiring, the control board may require replacement by a professional.
