Dryer shows F53 and may not start or may stop with drum not turning.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before inspection.

Relieve motor overload:

• Remove some laundry and try a smaller load to see if the error clears.
• Rotate the drum by hand; if stiff or grinding, inspect rear drum bearing, front felt, and support rollers (if fitted) for wear or foreign objects.
• Check the drive belt for proper tension and alignment.
• Inspect the motor for overheating signs and test windings with a multimeter; replace the motor if windings are shorted or open.
• If mechanical parts are free and motor tests good, the control’s motor drive circuit may be faulty.
