Safety first: Disconnect power. Heating components can be sharp and may have sharp edges.

Inspect heater assembly:

Remove the rear panel (or side panel on some models) to access the heater housing.
Visually inspect the heater coils for breaks, hot spots, or contact with the metal housing.
Check all heater terminals for tightness and signs of overheating or melting.
Use a multimeter to test continuity across the heater terminals; an open circuit indicates a failed heater.
Replace the heater assembly if defective. Always transfer any thermostats or sensors from the old unit to the new one if they are not included.
Reassemble and test the dryer on a timed heat cycle.

Dryer does not heat or shows irregular heating; display shows F8.
