How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before working on the door assembly.

Stabilize door locking:

Inspect the door hinge and latch for play; tighten hinge screws and replace worn latch components.
Access the door switch/lock assembly and check for secure mounting and proper actuation when the door closes.
Test the switch for stable continuity when closed; replace if readings are intermittent.
Check wiring from the lock to the control board for strain or broken conductors.
If mechanical and wiring components are sound but F84 continues, the control board input circuit may be faulty.

Dryer shows F84 and may not start or may stop unexpectedly.
