Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Misaligned or damaged door latch, Broken door strike, Loose wiring at door switch harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Monogram dryer or switch off the dedicated circuit breaker before any disassembly. Do not bypass safety switches for testing while the unit is energized.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the dryer door. Make sure nothing is caught in the door gasket and that the door sits flush with the front panel.
- Inspect door latch and strike: Look at the plastic/metal strike on the door and the latch on the cabinet. If the strike is loose, cracked, or missing, tighten or replace it. If the latch is bent or broken, it must be replaced.
- Test door switch: With power disconnected, remove the top or front panel (depending on model) to access the door switch. Disconnect the switch harness and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the switch. Replace the door switch if it does not change state (open/closed) correctly.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the main control board for loose connectors, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Reset power: Restore power and try starting a cycle again. If E01 persists after replacing the door switch/latch, the main control board may require professional diagnosis.
