Possible Causes
Overloaded drum with heavy items, Restricted drum rotation due to worn rollers, Failing drive motor drawing excessive current, Blocked blower wheel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before inspecting internal components. Avoid running the dryer repeatedly if it is shutting down on overload.
- Reduce load size: Remove some items from the drum, especially heavy or bulky items like comforters or rugs. Run a test cycle with a medium load.
- Check drum rotation: With the dryer empty and unplugged, rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. Grinding, scraping, or binding indicates worn drum support rollers, glides, or a seized idler pulley.
- Inspect rollers and idler: Remove the front panel and drum. Spin each drum roller and the idler pulley by hand. Replace any that are noisy, flat-spotted, or seized.
- Check blower wheel: Inspect the blower wheel for lint buildup or foreign objects. Ensure it spins freely and is not rubbing the housing.
- Test motor: If mechanical components are free and E11 persists, the drive motor may be overheating internally. Motor replacement is typically required and may be best handled by a technician.
