Dryer display shows E12, controls unresponsive or erratic

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Electronic repairs should be done carefully to avoid shock and further damage.

• Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If E12 returns immediately and controls remain erratic, proceed.
• Inspect wiring and ground: Remove the top or rear panel to access the main control board. Check that all harness connectors are fully seated and that the ground wire is securely attached to the chassis.
• Look for visible damage: Examine the control board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or darkened areas. Any visible damage usually means the board must be replaced.
• Check for moisture: Ensure there are no signs of water intrusion or condensation around the control. Dry the area if needed and correct any source of leaks.
• Replace control board: If wiring is intact and E12 persists, replace the main control board with the correct Monogram part number for your model. Transfer any jumper plugs or settings as specified in the service documentation.
