Possible Causes
Failed motor tachometer sensor, Damaged motor harness, Loose connector at main control, Defective main control tach input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the motor or control board.
- Inspect motor harness: Access the drive motor and inspect the multi-pin connector and wiring harness for damage or loose connections. Reseat the connector.
- Check for obstructions: Ensure the drum and blower turn freely and are not binding, which can cause abnormal speed readings.
- Test tach sensor (if separate): On models with a separate tach sensor, test its resistance and output according to Monogram service data. Replace if out of range.
- Control board: If the motor and tach sensor are good and wiring is intact, the main control board may not be processing speed feedback correctly and may need replacement.
