Possible Causes
Failed igniter, Weak gas valve coils, Defective flame sensor, Gas supply turned off or restricted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and shut off the gas supply. If you smell gas, ventilate the area and contact your gas supplier or emergency services.
- Verify gas supply: Ensure the manual gas shutoff valve is fully open and other gas appliances are working.
- Observe burner (if safe): With panels in place and gas on, start a heat cycle and watch through the burner view port. Note whether the igniter glows and whether the burner lights.
- If no glow: Disconnect power, access the burner, and test the igniter for continuity. Replace if open or cracked.
- If glow but no flame: Test the gas valve coils for proper resistance and replace the coil set if weak. Clean and test the flame sensor; replace if it does not respond to heat.
- Reassemble and leak test: After reassembly, turn gas back on and check all fittings with leak detection solution. Do not use open flame. Confirm proper ignition and heating.
