Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door wiring harness at hinge area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before any disassembly. Do not bypass safety switches for normal use.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure the latch clicks positively. Inspect the door hook for cracks or bending.
- Inspect the door seal and hinge: If the door is sagging, lift it slightly while closing and try to start. A sagging door can prevent the door switch from engaging.
- Test the door switch: With power disconnected, remove the top cover (usually rear screws) and access the door lock/switch assembly. Disconnect the switch connector and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the switch. Replace if it does not change state.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness from the door lock assembly to the main control PCB for pinched, broken, or burnt wires, especially near the hinge area.
- Reassemble and test: Refit covers, restore power, and test the dryer. If E01 persists after replacing the door switch, the main control board may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
