Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC sensor on heater duct, Shorted NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC connector on wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing internal components. Heating components can remain hot after use.

  • Power reset: Unplug the dryer for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try again to rule out a transient error.
  • Access the NTC: On many Montpellier dryers, the NTC sensor is mounted on the front or rear of the heater duct or on the evaporator assembly (heat pump models). Remove the rear panel to locate the small probe with two wires.
  • Inspect connections: Check the NTC plug and wiring for signs of overheating, corrosion, or loose fit. Reseat the connector.
  • Test the NTC: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure the NTC at room temperature. Typical values are 5–20 kΩ depending on model. If it reads open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, replace the sensor.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and run a warm program. If E03 persists, the main control PCB’s sensor circuit may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
