Possible Causes
Open heating element, Burnt heater wiring connector, Faulty heater relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and wait for internal components to cool before accessing the rear panel.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel to access the heater housing. Inspect the heater terminals and wiring for signs of burning or loose connections.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the heater connectors and measure resistance across the heating element with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check thermostats: While at the heater, test any inline thermostats or thermal fuses for continuity. Replace any that are open.
- Inspect PCB connections: At the main control board, check the heater relay terminals and wiring harness for heat damage or loose plugs.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty components, reassemble and run a warm cycle. If E06 returns and the heater tests good, the control board relay or triac may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
