Possible Causes
Blocked vent hose, Crushed or kinked exhaust duct, Blocked external vent grille or flap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before moving the dryer or removing the vent hose.
- Inspect vent hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall and check the vent hose for kinks, crushing, or lint buildup. Remove the hose and clean thoroughly.
- Check external vent: Go outside and inspect the wall vent or grille. Remove any lint, nests, or obstructions. Ensure the flap opens freely when air flows.
- Shorten hose if possible: Use the shortest, straightest route for the vent hose to improve airflow.
- Clean internal duct: If accessible, vacuum lint from the internal exhaust duct and fan housing.
- Test run: Reconnect the hose, restore power, and run a timed cycle. If E12 reappears, the airflow sensor or thermal protection devices may need further diagnosis.
