Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the water tank or accessing the base area.
Step-by-step checks:
- Empty and clean the water tank: Remove the condensate tank, empty it completely, and rinse with warm water. Check the float mechanism (if fitted) moves freely and is not stuck by detergent residue.
- Clean the tank housing: Inspect the cavity where the tank slides in. Remove lint or debris that may obstruct the level sensor or float switch.
- Check for standing water in base: On some Proline condenser dryers, a small pump in the base lifts water to the tank. Remove the lower front panel or rear panel to inspect the sump. If full of water, the pump or hose may be blocked.
- Clean pump and hoses: Disconnect the small rubber hose from the sump to the pump and from the pump to the tank. Flush with warm water to remove lint clogs. Check the pump impeller for free movement.
- Test the pump (if accessible): With the dryer reassembled but panels still off, briefly power the unit and start a cycle to see if the pump runs when water is present (only if safe and competent to do so).
When to call a technician: If the pump does not run or hum when commanded, or if the level sensor wiring is damaged, professional diagnosis and part replacement are recommended.
