Possible Causes
One of multiple NTC sensors out of range, Incorrect replacement sensor fitted, Poor thermal contact of sensor to duct
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing sensors.
Step-by-step checks:
- Identify all NTC sensors: Many Proline dryers use more than one NTC (e.g., on heater housing and exhaust duct). Locate each sensor.
- Compare resistance: At room temperature, disconnect each sensor and measure resistance. Values should be similar if they are the same type. A large difference suggests a faulty or incorrect sensor.
- Check mounting: Ensure each NTC is firmly clamped to the metal surface and not hanging loose, which would cause incorrect readings.
- Replace suspect sensor: Fit the correct Proline-compatible NTC with matching specifications.
When to call a technician: If all sensors are correct and E20 persists, the control board calibration may be faulty.
