Possible Causes

Shorted moisture sensor bars, Moisture sensor wiring short to chassis, Faulty control board not recognising dryness, Stuck relay on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before working on sensors or the control board.

  • Clean moisture sensor bars: Inside the drum, clean the sensor strips thoroughly with white vinegar to remove any conductive residue.
  • Inspect sensor wiring: Access the moisture sensor wiring behind the front bulkhead. Ensure wires are not pinched or touching the metal cabinet.
  • Test sensor circuit: With a multimeter, check for a short circuit across the sensor terminals when they are not bridged. If shorted, inspect for damaged insulation or replace the sensor assembly.
  • Try timed cycle: Use a timed program instead of auto-dry. If timed cycles work correctly, the issue is likely in the moisture sensing or control logic.
  • Control board replacement: If sensors and wiring are correct but the dryer still overruns on auto, the main PCB may have a stuck relay or logic fault and require replacement.
