Possible Causes
Incorrect mains frequency or unstable supply, Faulty mains interference filter, Defective power supply section on main control PCB, Loose mains connections inside terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from the mains before opening any covers. Only qualified persons should work on live circuits.
- Verify mains supply: Ensure the dryer is connected to a proper 220–240 V, 50 Hz supply as specified for Rangemaster appliances. Avoid using generators or inverters that provide unstable frequency.
- Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover over the mains terminal block. Check that all screws are tight and that there are no signs of overheating or burning.
- Check mains filter: Locate the mains interference filter and inspect for damage or loose connections. Replace if swollen, cracked, or burnt.
- Control board power section: If the supply and filter are sound, the power supply section on the main control PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the PCB is usually required.
