Possible Causes
Conflicting readings from NTC and moisture sensor, Faulty drum rotation sensor, Corrupted program data on main control PCB, Loose sensor harness connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before inspecting sensors or wiring.
- Clean moisture sensor bars: Inside the drum, clean the metal moisture sensor strips with a cloth and white vinegar to remove any residue.
- Check NTC sensor wiring: Access the NTC sensor and ensure its connector is secure and wiring is intact.
- Inspect drum rotation sensor: If your Rangemaster dryer uses a tachometer on the motor, check the sensor and wiring for damage or misalignment.
- Reset control: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes to reset the control. Reconnect and run a timed cycle to see if the error reappears.
- Replace main control PCB: If all sensors and wiring test correctly but E16 persists, the control PCB may have corrupted program data and require replacement.
