Dryer displays E17; on some models, the door may lock and unlock repeatedly without starting the cycle.

Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from the mains before working on the door lock or control board.

• Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and the latch engages fully. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
• Inspect door lock assembly: Remove the front panel trim to access the door lock. Check for cracks, loose mounting, or signs of overheating.
• Test lock operation: With the lock removed and disconnected, test the solenoid coil for continuity and the feedback switch for correct operation using a multimeter. Replace the door lock assembly if faulty.
• Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the main PCB for breaks or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
• Control board check: If a new lock does not resolve E17, the door lock driver circuit on the main PCB may be defective and the board may need replacement.
