Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted control buttons, Liquid spill into control panel, Damaged key matrix on user interface PCB, Loose or damaged ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel fascia.
- Inspect for contamination: Check the front of the control panel for signs of liquid spills or detergent residue. Wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth (no solvents).
- Check button movement: Press each button individually to ensure it moves freely and returns. A stuck button can cause key matrix errors.
- Remove fascia and inspect PCB: Carefully remove the control fascia to expose the user interface PCB. Look for corrosion, residue, or burn marks. Clean light contamination with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the user interface and main PCB to ensure a good connection.
- Replace user interface PCB: If buttons or tracks are damaged, replace the user interface PCB.
