Possible Causes
Blocked exhaust vent, Lint buildup in blower housing, Stuck heater relay on PCB, Failed cycling thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the dryer to cool completely. Risk of burns and fire if overheating is ignored.
- Inspect venting: Disconnect the exhaust duct from the dryer and check for lint clogs, crushed sections, or long runs with multiple elbows. Clean or shorten as needed.
- Clean internal lint: Remove front or rear panels and vacuum lint from the blower housing, heater housing, and internal ducts.
- Check thermostats: Test the cycling thermostat and high-limit thermostat on the heater housing for proper continuity and temperature response (refer to Samsung specs).
- Observe heater operation: With panels reinstalled and dryer running (caution: live voltage), verify that the heater cycles on and off. If it stays on continuously, the heater relay on the PCB may be stuck closed and the PCB should be replaced by a technician.
