Possible Causes
Open or shorted drum thermistor, Loose thermistor connector, Damaged thermistor wiring harness, Faulty main PCB temperature input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Locate thermistor: On many Samsung dryers, the thermistor is mounted on the blower housing or exhaust duct inside the cabinet.
- Inspect connector: Reseat the thermistor plug and check for corrosion or broken locking tabs.
- Measure resistance: At room temperature, measure thermistor resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Samsung specifications (often around 10–12 kΩ at 25°C). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates failure.
- Check harness: Follow the wires from the thermistor to the main PCB, looking for pinched or broken wires.
- Replace thermistor: If readings are out of spec, install a new Samsung drum/exhaust thermistor.
Note: If a new thermistor does not clear the error, the main PCB may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
