Possible Causes
Faulty Start/Pause button, Door not detected as closed, Child lock function active, Defective user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.
- Check door and indicators: Ensure the door is fully closed and any door-closed indicator is lit. If your Siemens model has a child lock, disable it according to the user manual.
- Try different programs: Select another program and press Start to rule out a specific program fault.
- Test Start button: Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly. If it feels stuck or unresponsive, the switch may be faulty. Access the control panel and test the button switch with a multimeter.
- Inspect UI board: Look for cracked solder joints or damage around the Start button on the PCB. Repair or replace the user interface board if necessary.
