Dryer produces loud banging or thumping noises when tumbling

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before internal inspection.

• Check load: Stop the cycle and redistribute the laundry. Avoid drying single heavy items like large towels alone.
• Inspect drum baffles: Open the door and check the plastic or metal lifters inside the drum. Tighten loose screws or replace cracked baffles.
• Check rollers: Remove front or rear panels to access drum rollers. Replace any that are worn, out-of-round, or noisy.
• Inspect drum seam: Check for separation at the drum seam or loose rivets. Replace the drum if structurally damaged.
