Possible Causes
Failed heater relay on power module, Burnt solder joints on power PCB, Shorted heater causing relay damage, Faulty main control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before touching the control board.
- Check heater first: Before suspecting the electronics, test the heater element for shorts to earth and correct resistance. Replace a shorted heater to prevent new board damage.
- Access power module: Remove the top or side panel to reach the power electronics board (often in a plastic housing). Carefully open the housing.
- Inspect relay and PCB: Look for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or melted relay cases. If the heater relay is visibly damaged or the PCB is burnt, the power module should be replaced.
- Connector check: Ensure all high-current connectors to the heater and mains input are tight and not discolored from overheating.
- Replace module: Install a genuine Siemens power module with matching part number. Transfer any configuration jumpers as per service instructions.
