Possible Causes
Blocked exhaust duct (vented models), Clogged condenser or heat exchanger, Failed exhaust NTC sensor, Faulty exhaust fan (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.
- Clean exhaust path: For vented Siemens dryers, remove the exhaust hose and clear lint from the hose and wall vent. Ensure the external flap moves freely.
- Clean condenser and filters: On condenser and heat pump models, remove and rinse the condenser, and clean all lint filters thoroughly.
- Check exhaust NTC: Locate the NTC sensor in the exhaust air path. Inspect its connector and wiring. Test resistance and replace if out of specification.
- Inspect fan (if fitted): Some models have an additional exhaust or circulation fan. Check that it spins freely and runs during operation. Replace the fan motor if seized or noisy.
- Reset and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, reset power and run a test cycle. Persistent E12 may indicate a control board fault.
