Possible Causes
Door lock solenoid failure, Broken door lock feedback switch, Wiring fault between lock and control, Faulty main control output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before working on the door lock.
- Listen for lock operation: When starting a cycle (before unplugging), note whether you hear a click from the door lock. No sound suggests a power or solenoid issue.
- Access door lock: Remove the front panel or door seal clamp to reach the door lock assembly. Inspect for physical damage or signs of overheating.
- Test lock coil and switch: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the lock coil and check continuity of the feedback switch when the lock is engaged. Replace the lock assembly if readings are incorrect.
- Check wiring harness: Trace the wires from the lock to the control board. Repair any damaged conductors and reseat connectors.
- Control output: If a known-good lock and wiring still produce E16, the control board’s lock driver circuit may be defective and require replacement.
