Possible Causes

Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose tacho magnet on motor shaft, Damaged tacho wiring, Defective motor control circuit on power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the motor area.

  • Check drum rotation: Manually rotate the drum to ensure it moves freely and is not jammed.
  • Access motor and tacho: Remove the rear panel and belt to expose the motor. Locate the tachometer sensor at the end of the motor.
  • Inspect tacho magnet and sensor: Ensure the magnet is firmly attached to the shaft and the sensor is correctly positioned. If the magnet is loose or broken, replace it or the motor assembly.
  • Test tacho wiring: Check continuity from the tacho sensor to the control board. Repair any breaks or poor connections.
  • Module diagnosis: If the tacho and wiring are good, the motor control section of the power module may be faulty and require replacement.
