How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Check selector operation: Rotate the program knob through all positions. If it feels loose, skips positions, or does not click, the mechanical encoder may be worn.
- Remove knob and clean: Pull off the knob and gently clean the shaft and surrounding area. Do not use excessive force or liquids.
- Inspect encoder on PCB: Remove the control panel to access the encoder soldered to the user interface board. Check for cracked solder joints and resolder if necessary.
- Replace encoder or UI board: If the encoder is physically damaged or integrated into the PCB, replace the entire user interface board with a Siemens-approved part.
