Possible Causes
Failed main control PCB, Burnt relay or power supply component, Shorted wiring harness causing board protection, Surge damage from mains supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before touching the control board.
- Check mains supply: Verify the wall socket voltage is correct and stable. Avoid using extension leads or multi-plugs for high-power appliances.
- Inspect wiring harness: Remove the top cover and inspect the wiring harness for signs of burning, melted insulation, or loose connectors. Repair any damaged wiring before replacing electronics.
- Examine control board: Remove the control panel fascia to access the main PCB. Look for burnt tracks, swollen capacitors, or cracked solder joints. If visible damage is present, the board must be replaced.
- Board replacement: Transfer each connector from the old board to the new one one-by-one to avoid miswiring. Ensure the board is correctly mounted and insulated from the chassis.
- Surge protection: After repair, consider using a surge-protected outlet to reduce future damage risk.
