Possible Causes

Failed blower fan motor, Obstructed blower wheel with lint or foreign object, Broken blower wheel hub, Faulty fan motor capacitor (if separate)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains power. Moving fan blades can cause injury; never work on the blower with power connected.

  • Check airflow: With the dryer running (before disconnecting), feel at the exhaust or front outlet for airflow. Weak or no airflow suggests a blower issue.
  • Access blower assembly: Remove the rear or front lower panel (model-dependent) to reach the blower housing.
  • Inspect blower wheel: Look for lint clumps, socks, or other objects jammed in the blower. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  • Check blower wheel attachment: Ensure the wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft. If the hub is cracked or the wheel spins freely on the shaft, replace the blower wheel.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the motor and measure winding resistance. If open or shorted, replace the fan motor. If a separate capacitor is used, test and replace if out of specification.
  • Reassemble and test: After clearing obstructions or replacing parts, reassemble panels and run a test cycle to confirm normal airflow and that E10 is cleared.
