Dryer displays E11; control panel may be unresponsive or buttons behave erratically.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel or touching any electronic boards.

• Power reset: Disconnect the dryer from mains for at least 5 minutes to allow the electronics to fully reset. Reconnect and test.
• Inspect control panel: Remove the top cover and then the front control fascia. Check for signs of moisture, detergent residue, or corrosion on the user interface board.
• Check ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the user interface and main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged.
• Dry moisture: If moisture is present, gently dry the area with a lint-free cloth and allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
• Replace UI board: If buttons or display remain erratic after cleaning and reseating cables, replace the user interface PCB specific to your SMEG model.
