Gas dryer runs but does not heat (no error code), igniter may or may not glow

Safety first: Shut off gas and unplug the dryer before servicing. Do not attempt repairs if you smell strong gas.

Step-by-step checks:

• Confirm gas supply: Ensure the shutoff valve is open and other gas appliances work.
• Observe ignition: Restore power and gas, start a cycle, and watch through the burner view port. Note whether the igniter glows and whether the flame lights.
• If igniter does not glow: Test igniter resistance; replace if open. Check wiring to igniter.
• If igniter glows but no flame: Replace the gas valve coil kit; these commonly fail intermittently.
• If flame lights then goes out quickly: Clean or replace the flame sensor.
